Our mission
About Mirror Lake Watershed Association
To protect, educate, and advocate for Mirror Lake and its surrounding watershed by monitoring and improving the water quality, preserving and enhancing its ecological health and natural beauty, and raising and encouraging public awareness about the importance of mitigating environmental threats to the watershed.
Our History
Protecting the Watershed for future Generations
The Mirror Lake Watershed Association (MLWA) was formed in 1997 by the LP/NE Water Management Committee to focus on water quality in the Mirror Lake watershed. Our association’s first action was to join the NYS Federation of Lakes Association (FOLA) and begin volunteer water sampling under a program administered by the NYS DEC.
Through volunteer efforts and fundraising the MLWA has worked to educate our leaders and the public to the dangers to Mirror Lake water quality and preventative measures that can be taken.
